Ethical Fashion Consideration

Fashion Industry Dilemma

Globalisation  has enabled to earn bigger profits, while at the same time offering cheaper products.  Globalisation would also mean that materials and labour can be purchased in different parts of the world where costs are pressedto very low.  The the serious concerns of the industrial operation is that there are rising exposure to  exploitative working conditions in the factories that make cheap clothes for the high street.
Workers including child workers can be subjected to violence and abuse such as forced overtime, as well as cramped and unhygienic surroundings, bad food, and very poor pay.  The low cost of clothes on the high street means that less and less money goes to the people who actually make them. At the same time, with such mass production of cheap well known branded products, local producer/artist would find themselves hard to compete in the industry. Creativity of boutique fashion is at risk of disappearing.
The fashion industry often find themselves in hot waters with PETA, animal rights organisation. There are many animals which are farmed in order to meet the supply fur for the fashion industry, and many people feel that their welfare is an important part of the Ethical Fashion debate. Farmed animals are mostly not well treated as being shown by PETA in their ads.

Ethical Fashion

It is great to know that there are increasing awareness of fashion followers on the impact of fashion industry towards the environment, human and animal welfare.
Our products are made locally, with excellent working conditions. We try to use ethically sourced materials as much as possible. We would not use leathers and/or other animal fur in our products.
We thank you for considering the impact of your fashion statements for the planet Earth, human and animals as well.
