First Female Peace Activist to Receive Peace Nobel Prize, Bertha von Suttner

Her pivotal role in peace activism was from her second book titled Lay Down Your Arms. The book was written as a fictitious novel in an effort to provide service to the Peace League, done with careful research on the horrors of war. Her book was written so realistically that the novel made an impact on the reading public. From that point on, von Suttner played her continual role as a peace activist.
